Terrestrial Ecosystem Mapping with Wildlife Interpretations and Sensitive Ecosystems Inventory for Weyerhaeuser TFL 15 covered an area of 49,100 ha. The western boundary of the TFL occurs east of Highway 97 and extends north to south from approximately Okanagan Falls to Oliver. The Nelson/Kamloops Forest Region boundary and/or the Baldy Mountain Ski Resort best represent the eastern boundary. Information provided describes the study area, objectives, methods and results.

This project was completed in accordance with the 1998 Standard for Terrestrial Ecosystem Mapping in B.C. and the 1998 Standard for Terrestrial Ecosystem Mapping Digital Data Capture. The project files include a project report, a map legend, non-spatial polygon attribute databases, field data, ArcInfo spatial data, wildlife data and sensitive ecosystems inventory data. The study area partially covers the following mapsheets: 82E.004, 82E.005, 82E.014, 82E.015, 82E.024, 82E.025, 82E.034, 82E.035 and 82E.036. It is situated in the Northern Okanagan Highland and the Southern Okanagan Basin ecosection and includes the following biogeoclimatic subzone variants: the Very Dry Hot Ponderosa Pine Variant (PPxh1), Okanagan Very Dry Hot Interior Douglas-fir Variant (IDFxh1), Kettle Dry Mild Interior Douglas-fir Variant (IDFdm1), Okanagan Dry Mild Montane Spruce Variant (MSdm1), Okanagan Dry Cold Engelmann spruce - Subalpine Fir Variant (ESSFdc1), Okanagan Dry Cold Engelmann spruce - Subalpine Fir Upper Elevational Variant (ESSFdcu) and Okanagan Dry Cold Engelmann spruce - Subalpine Fir Parkland Variant (ESSFdcp1). Wildlife Habitat Ratings were developed for the following species: the white-headed woodpecker (Picoides albolarvatus), Williamson's sapsucker (Sphyrapicus thyroideus), elk (Cervus elaphus), lynx (Lynx canadensis) and mule deer (Odocoileus hemionus). As well Sensitive Ecosystems Inventory was done for this area.
