The report summarizes the results of the second phase (Phase II) of Groundwater Protection Planning (GWPP) for the Kelowna Joint Water Committee (KJWC), an organization of water purveyors in the Greater Kelowna BC area, consisting of the Black Mountain Irrigation District (BMID), City of Kelowna (CoK), Glenmore-Ellison Improvement District (GEID), Rutland Water District (RWWD) and South East Kelowna Irrigation District (SEKID). The objective of Phase II of the GWPP is to assess short term (less than 1 year) time-of-travel zones for each water purveyor's well(s), and to conduct a preliminary contaminant inventory within these time-of-travel capture zones, such that a joint strategy to manage and protect the source aquifer for the KJWC wells (Greater Kelowna Aquifer) can be developed.
