The purpose of the CAP is to identify disturbed channels, if they exist, in a consistent repeatable process. The cause of the documented disturbance will be evident in many instances. However, in other cases the disturbances will not easily be attributed to a single, definite cause such as past logging activities (BC Ministry of Environment, Lands and parks (MOELP), Forest Practices Code CAP Guidebook, 1996)
