This document provides a simplified tool to help land managers, government staff and non-expert technical personnel identify wetland presence using water, plant and soil types as primary indicators. It also provides region-specific guidance for identifying wetlands under the Water Sustainability Act. This document is limited in scope to low-elevation (<1,200 masl) wetlands of the Okanagan Valley. Wetland definitions, survey guidance, identification keys and indicator descriptions (including photographs) are provided.
