This report provides guidelines for those individuals involved in the design and delivery of extension activities. The first section provides an overview of existing programs and extracts those elements that characterize a successful program. The second section is grounded in the principles of learning and in the process of information dissemination. It presents guidelines for using methods to deliver extension activities. Throughout the report, where the information presented has implications for forestry extension, these are highlighted in the text.
