This report discusses the problem of feeding damage to trees by the porcupine (Erethizon dorsatum Erxleben) and intensive forest management in the Prince Rupert Forest Region. A first approximation of a forecast model to predict when and where outbreaks of porcupine damage will occur is outlined.
