The aim of this project was to obtain a better understanding of the complex interconnected processes leading to Douglas-fir ecosystem responses to pre-commercial thinning and nitrogen fertilization. By identifying important processes and their relationships to site and stand conditions, it was anticipated that this would improve the prediction of growth responses to these stand treatments.
