This project employs a multivariate reference condition approach (RCA ) to bio-assessment using benthic macroinvertebrates in streams . The Benthic Macroinvertebrate Sustainability Indicator system integrates into forestry plan effectiveness evaluation as well as adaptive management decision making processes such as landscape level plans, forest product certification efforts, and operational scale land and water management plans. It can also be used in watershed management processes, point source discharge regulation and non-point source pollution abatement and remediation efforts by governments and industries.
