Abstract: Pink Creek is a small 16.4 km2 basin with a mainstem length of 6.6 km. The project sites occur in the lower reaches of the stream and have an average gradient of 1.5%. Pink Creek has 4 steep tributaries that drain portions of the steep Karmutzen Ranges to the south. Pink Creek has supported healthy coho, pink, sea run cutthroat trout, rainbow trout and dolly varden char populations in the past. It is suspected to have supported runs of steelhead and sockeye salmon. As the only known pink salmon producing tributary to the Nimpkish River, Pink Creek is very important to the biological diversity of the basin (nhc and Alby 1999a).
