Abstract: This Extension Note is intended for foresters and managers interested in the potential effects of fertilization and clearcutting on soil ecosystem processes in ICH forests. It may also be of interest to researchers interested in links between N cycling and the composition of the soil biota, forest certifiers interested in sustainability indicators for forest practices, and the general public interested in the biology of ICH forests. The information gained in this study should be helpful for management of wet-belt forests in a manner that sustains both soil and forest productivity.
