Under the FRBC program and the 2002-03 FIA project #2056001 a detailed-engineered design was created and 3.2km's were constructed to the engineered design specifications. The final phase of this project was to complete permanent deactivation of the old road location, to eliminate public access. This project is directly related to our 2002-03 FIA project 2056001. It is the deactivation of the original road location that has been replaced by an environmentally improved road location. The completion of the permanent deactivation has created a public benefit by addressing the current issues of illegal dumping, accidents and sediment runoff, all of which have the potential to greatly affect domestic water quality in Kelowna Creek.
