The four projects are concerned with growth and yield endeavours in TFL 39 and TFL 44. Section 2 concerns the collection of growth and yield plot data from natural and managed stands in both TFL 39 and TFL 44 using established methods. Sections 1, 3 and 4 share a common goal- the investigation of growth and yield effects under variable retention. Section 3 concerns data collection and sampling under variable retention, Section 4 examines in more detail the microclimate effects. Section 1 provides a modeling framework for examining the information gleaned for the data collection and microclimate investigations (Sections 3 and 4). Data were collected from a variety of sites in TFL 39 and TFL 44. The modelling/microclimate relationships under development were developed for both TFL 39 and TFL 44 as both share similar sites and species. The work in Sections 1,3 and 4 provide a preliminary foundation for continued investigations. Nick Smith.
