The original database developed for the Species at Risk (SAR) Project completed in 2003-04 was intended as a guide for salvage operations in sites burned in 2003 within the Kamloops TSA. The database had proven useful from a strategic perspective to alert forest planners of Red and Blue-listed wildlife species that could occur within a particular BEC unit. It had been available to all licensees in the TSA, and was potentially being applied to unburned, green sites as well.
