The objective of this project was to restore riparian forests where logging equipment and machinery had been dragged through creeks and exposing mineral soils adjacent to the creeks. As result, Alder stands dominated stream side-banks and posed further threat to the fish bearing streams, as it was only a matter of time before they would begin to topple into the creeks with their clustered root systems and expose the creeks to excess sedimentation. The function of this treatment will allow for the trees to gradually break off at the treatment point and not uproot and expose the side-bank sedimentation into the creeks.
