The Anahim Supply Block is the most western supply block in the Williams Lake TSA. The area supports several small communities including the Ulkatcho community and areas of asserted overlap with other First Nations traditional lands. Yun Ka Whu?ten Holdings (YKW), owned by the Ulkatcho First Nation (UIB), holds Forest Licences within the Anahim Supply Block. These licences are held for the sole benefit of West Chilcotin Forest Products (WCFP), a joint venture initiative consisting of local native, local non-native and industry interests through the Yun Ka Whu'ten Holdings Limited, CAT Resources and Carrier Lumber respectively. The incorporation of cultural concerns and values and local community interests was completed through a Public Consultation process in the 2003-04 fiscal and through the incorporation of existing higher-level plans, the Caribou Chilcotin Land Use Plan (CCLUP) and the Anahim Round Table (ART) Documents. In the 2004-05 fiscal year Public Consultations were held to develop the indicators and targets for the SFMP. Two Ulkatcho strategies, wildlife and pine mushroom were reviewed and initial indicators and targets were developed from them. These strategies are being developed in a parallel process but are not complete, upon their completion and adoption they will be incorporated into the SFMP. A plan to assist in the development of an SFMP for the Williams Lake TSA has included information obtained from the Anahim Supply Block and is based on a strategy that allows full and autonomous participation by the Ulkatcho First Nation and the Anahim community through a consultation process. Government input will be included through the incorporation of the Higher Level plans and a call for comment process upon completion of a Draft SFMP. Other First Nations who have overlapping interests within the Anahim Supply Block will also be consulted through a call for comment process upon completion the Draft SFMP document.
