Abstract: The Morice and Lakes IFPA have invested heavily in Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) and the systems that are necessary to manage toward SFM. A large part of this SFM system depends on the effective management of vast amounts of data. A large amount of effort and resources were invested to reconcile disparate data among the various IFPA partners in order to develop the management strategies that guide the IFPA SFM system; therefore, the maintenance and update of these data are extremely important to ensure the IFPA SFM system continues to function effectively and guide the IFPA in meeting these SFM strategies. It is critical that the results derived in a consistent manner so that comparisons can be made between reporting periods in order to support any adjustments that may be required as part of the continual improvement program. The purpose of this users guide is to provide a consistent reference for: Timelines for SFM Data Management and Reporting requirements; Data Input Procedures (i.e. requirements, standards, validation, quality assurance procedures); Data Analysis and Compilation (to support SFM indicator monitoring and reporting) SFM Monitoring Report Procedures; Continual Improvement Procedures.
