Abstract: The merchantability of forested stands is defined as the value of the stand minus the cost associated with harvesting and processing the lumber extracted. Many factors affect the cost and value of a stand and the Timber Merchantability Analysis developed for the Boundary TSA and applied to TFL 8 was designed to estimate these factors and approximate stand merchantability. Doug Myers.
