A landslide occurred off of Branch 300 and carried down to a small spur off the West Mainline on September 8th, 2004. At the time Branch 300 was part of a FIA funded road deactivation project. The event occurred following heavy rainfall (60mm per 24hr period). The size of the event is estimated at 0.5ha with 0.4ha remaining as productive. The area is stability class III and there is moderate risk of future erosion or further landslide events. Grass seeding and planting was completed on May 8th 2005. Although the prescription did not call for planting, at the time of seeding, it was deemed appropriate to plant Cw and fertilize the seedlings in all plantable ground. Of the landslide area, 0.4ha were hand seeded at 75kg/ha and 0.36ha were planted and fertilized at 1000 stems/ha.
