Abstract: At the request of Mr. J. Sandford, Western Forest Products Inc., a road reactivation assessment was completed for a 2.8 kilometer section of the E Branch road on August 30, 2006. This old logging road is now used as a recreation road and the purpose of this assessment was to prepare prescriptions for upgrading the road so that it would improve access as a recreation use road. This road was constructed across steep slopes over 20 years ago for the purpose of accessing timber. However this road is no longer needed for timber purposes but is now used by a local recreation club to access back country. The road is being kept open by members of this recreation club however the old drainage structures are starting to fail and access is slowly deteriorating and will eventually get cutoff once a 10 m long bridge at the start of the trail fails. A 1:20000 scale location map included in this report shows the location of E Branch and 1:5000 scale maps identify where work is proposed. Dale A. Ostapowich.
