Abstract: During 2006, we propose to re-measure the vegetation management research trial EP 1135.01 located in the Columbia Forest District near Mica, BC. This trial was established in 1991 to provide short and long term information on the impacts of a variety of manual brushing treatments, glyphosate application and no treatment (doing nothing). Re-measurement during 2006 will document vegetation competition and the growth and survival of Engelmann spruce 15 years post-treatment. During 2007, we propose to publish the 15th year results. These data will provide an opportunity to further explore the longer term growth relationships between treatments and compare early stand growth to that predicted by the BC MoFR growth model the Tree and Stand Simulator (TASS). Comeau et al. 2000 published the fifth year results of this trial and ten year results were presented at the 14th International Conference on Vegetation Management in Nancy, France (Biring et al. 2003).
