Abstract: Roads treated as part of this project were detremined through overview analysis to be moderate, high or very high risk with respect to resources at stake. Priorit roads were constructed between the late 1960'd and mid- 1980's. Permanent deactivation was prescribed to address the issues in all cases on 8.2 km roads. Hazards included failed or failing drainage structures, uncontrolled drainage, a failing dirt fill bridge, and unstable road prism areas on Road 9B. Landslides into MMaxwell Creek were imminent. Sections of Road 9B traversed areas of class IV and V terrain. No prior work of a similar nature had been done on any road in this project.
