An approved Access Management Plan identified road 250 as posing a risk to aquatic ecosystems. Works were planned to reduce the risk of environmental damage by poorly maintained roads with steep fills on slopes of 40-50%. The road was constructed sometime after World War 2 and was used primarily by hunters, ranchers and guides. The AMP accommodated access for ATV's only beyond the existing cabin on Road 250.
