Abstract: 30.6km of roads were surveyed on the ground with road deactivation prescriptions completed for each section. The surveyed roads were completed in the Milk and Morkill River drainages in the late fall of 2008 under the FIA program. These roads were identified in 2008 by Carrier Lumber Ltd field supervisors as needing to be looked at for road deactivation. Roads surveyed up the Milk River include CP114, 144, 119, 150, 155, 160 and portions of the Milk M/L. Roads surveyed up the Morkill River include CP331, 800, 801, 821, 823 and 900. All roads systems listed above were build pre-1995. The work was completed to FIA standards. A geo-technical engineer review was not needed for any of the above listed road sections as per LCR Ltd. The project was tendered through select tender to three local contractors with LCR Holdings Ltd. submitting the lowest bid. Gary McFarland Consulting was hired to complete the quality supervision for the project. Gary McFarland Consulting has extensive experience in both road deactivation and in building prescriptions. The contract was completed successfully by both contractors.
