In the last timber supply review for TFL 30, the base case projected a reduction in timber supply in the mid term. Another scenario, completed in conjunction with the base case, indicated that significant volume gains in all terms throughout the planning horizon might be possible, if intensive silviculture treatments were employed. The gains were attributable to an assumed 12% yield gain in managed stands due to intensive silviculture and the conversion of non-productive brush to productive forest where possible.
