Abstract: The report ?Fish Passage Culvert Inspections Vaseux, Inkaneep, and Penticton Creek Watersheds?, Snowy River Resources Ltd., 2001, identified this location as an upstream barrier to rainbow trout migration in 2001 with a score of 35. The data from the 2001 assessment were retrofitted using the March 2008 Fish Passage Protocol standards. The site scored 16 which is a partial barrier and it also had a high environmental risk. The existing culvert (photo 1) had been installed prior to 1995, was not embedded, had combined width that was too small relative to the channel width, high in-pipe water velocities and could convey only 37% of anticipated Q100 flows. A hydrologic assessment and new crossing design were completed in 2007 and the supply and installation of the structure occurred in August 2009. The assessments that contributed to the decision to restore fish passage at this crossing are: 1. ?Fish Passage Culvert Inspections Vase ux, Inkaneep, and Penticton Creek Watersheds?, Snowy River Resources Ltd., 2001, Score = 35; 2. Retrofitted data in FIA Project 5037004, 2008/09, score = 16 Potential Barrier and high environmental risk.
