Canfor has been conducting assessments of effectiveness of erosion and sediment control within TFL 48 since 2001. In 2007 the Province of BC developed a Protocol for Evaluating the Potential Impact of Forestry and Range Use on Water Quality (Water Quality Effectiveness Evaluation) with version 2.0 of this protocol released in March, 2008. While the provincial protocol is slightly different, the objectives and underlying principles remain the same; as such this protocol was adopted for the ongoing Water Quality Effectiveness Evaluations being conducted on TFL 48.
