Abstract: The purpose of this report is to provide a method of mapping the extent and quality of grizzly bear habitat in British Columbia, based on knowledge gained during two pilot projects. Habitat quality is defined in terms of its rank on a provincial scale and its carrying capacity. This methodology is intended for reconnaissance level of inventory, i.e., to be conducted for broad scale mapping (1:50 000 or smaller) with a minimum of field checking.
