Abstract: The purpose of this report is to provide the Biodiversity Branch of the British Columbia Ministry of Water, Land and Air Protection with: A comprehensive review of approaches and methodologies to assess the. economic contribution of intact old forests to society's economic well-being, and a pragmatic valuation methodology that is consistent with current economic thinking and that can be used to assess the economic value of old forests, so as to improve the information available for land-use decisions involving intact old forests.
