Under the Salmonid Enhancement Program, Silverhope Creek has been identified as one system with potential for providing a quality summer fishery for Lower Mainland anglers. Good access, minimal water-land use conflicts (Harding and Wightman 1974), and a sizeable historic run favour this candidate for enhancement. The present study takes the form of a basic reconnaissance program directed towards identifying methods of enhancing the summer steelhead stock. It stems from headquarters and regional requests for Habitat Improvement Section input towards a management plan.
