Through the joint Federal/Provincial Salmonid Enhancement Program (SEP), this study was undertaken to explore potential for enhancing stocks of winter steelhead trout (sea-going rainbow trout) and sea-run (sea-going) coastal cutthroat trout in the Alouette watershed located 24 km from downtown Vancouver, British Columbia. It was intended to aid in the formulation of a progressive fisheries management plan in the face of further residential, industrial and highway developmental proposals for the Alouette River(s) watershed. The report addresses trout production specifically, but the general concepts apply to all fish, particularly salmon species.
