In a 1987/88 Habitat Conservation Fund proposal entitled "Habitat Suitability Evaluation for Marten (Martes americana)", Steventon (1987) outlined the rationale for developing a predictive model of marten habitat suitability. The proposed project was to provide the basis for consideration of marten in forest management within the Sub-Boreal Spruce zone (Pojar et al. 1984). This working plan describes the process of developing a habitat suitability index model for marten in the Sub-Boreal Spruce zone, details the research necessary to develop the model and identifies a schedule and budget for the project.
