Abstract: The Fish Habitat Improvement Section (F.H.I.S.) of the B.C. Fish and Wildlife Branch, Ministry of Environment, was contracted by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (D.F.O.) to investigate enhancement potential for chinook, coho and steelhead in six selected tributaries of the South Thompson River. Investigations were conducted on the Seymour, Perry, Crazy, South Pass, Tappen and Trinity systems from July to mid-October, 1982. Field investigations involved a detailed assessment of habitats and fish populations as well as opportunistic measurements of water temperature, velocity and discharge. Water quality samples were collected monthly from mid-July to mid-October, 1982. Study objectives were to determine the potential for chinook, coho and steelhead enhancement relative to fry outplanting opportunities.
