At the 1979 annual meeting of the Federation of British Columbia Naturalists, the subject of threatened species in British Columbia was identified as a focal point for the Conservation Committee. The stimulus came from the provincial Fish and Wildlife Branch who were producing a discussion paper on threatened species.
After publication of this paper, Dr. Paul Joslin and I met to review it and to determine how to obtain comments from the naturalists and natural history clubs in the province.
