Westwood Lake is located approximately 5 km west of the city of Nanaimo. It is the site of a well-developed municipal park with beach and boat launch. At the request of the Regional Fisheries Section (Nanaimo), the Fisheries Improvement Unit undertook an assessment of fisheries enhancement potential and opportunities for this lake.
Collection of appropriate field data was conducted on September 10, 1986. A detailed lake survey was not intended. However, a variety of data were collected, as will be outlined in appropriate sections to follow.
