Abstract: In British Columbia, there are approximately 80 species of birds, mammals, and amphibians that depend on wildlife trees for their habitat requirements. Healthy populations of wildlife tree users are often an indicator of a healthy forest ecosystem. Without and adequate understanding of critical importance of wildlife trees and the impact forest management practices may have one wildlife tree dependant species, we cannot effectively manage our forests in an ecologically sound manner.
