In February, 1979, a Proposed Wildlife Management Plan for British Columbia was released for public comment. That comprehensive plan contained information on the philosophy, policy and problems and proposed direction of wildlife management, as well as outlining objectives for the management of most species. When the plan was released a commitment was made to provide the public with a summary of its comments on the plan.
This document summarizes all comments on the Proposed Wildlife Management Plan for British Columbia submitted by individuals and organizations before December 1, 1979. The comments are divided into four sections; public hearings, questions and answers, questionnaires and written briefs. The information is provided to allow concerned individuals to obtain some feeling for the diversity of public opinion regarding the plan and, when completed, to see how some of that opinion has been incorporated into the final draft of the Wildlife Plan.
