1979

Abstract: This plan is one in a series of draft management documents that was prepared by the Fish and Wildlife Branch on individual species or groups of species. After revision, the plan will guide mustelid management in British Columbia for the next five years consistent with management goals. The goals of wildlife management in B.C. are: 1) To maintain the diversity of species representative of the major biophysical zones of the Province; and 2) To ensure that within the constraints of land capability and biological limits of each species, wildlife is available in sufficient abundance to meet the recreational and economic needs of society. To meet these goals; objectives, policies and management prescriptions have been developed. This plan describes how and why they were derived for mustelids.
