This is one of a series of keys to the vascular plants (excluding Ferns and Fern allies) of British Columbia. Plants bearings seeds are placed by botanists in the flowering plants (Angiosperms) and conifers (Gymnosperms), then the flowering plants may belong to the Dicotyledonae or Monocotyledonae. This key carries identification to the family level within the Monocotyledonae. It is designed for the instruction of and field use by persons interested in expanding their botanical knowledge, and will serve as a practical introduction to more complete keys of formal manuals.
