In July 2004 Schedule 9 was added to the Contaminated Sites Regulation providing legally enforceable sediment quality criteria for sites in British Columbia. To assist land owners and operators in determining whether sediments are contaminated, and if sediment cleaned up proceeds, whether they meet the remediation criteria, the ministry has develop four guidance documents.
