This report examines the amount of halon in British Columbia that is in-system, banked, decommissioned or has been released into the environment in 1999. This report also examines regional and company/a gency details and compares 1999 totals to past years. The data was provided by each of the companies/agencies that use or used halon in their fire fighting equipment during 1999. British Columbia’s Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS) and Other Halocarbons Regulation places the responsibility of evaluating replacement alternatives for ODS in fire extinguishing equipment on industry.
