Abstract: This report examines the amount of halon in British Columbia that is in-system, banked, decommissioned or has been released into the environment in 2001. This report also examines regional and company/agency details and compares 2001 totals to past years. The data wasprovided by each of the companies/agencies that use or used halon in fire fighting equipment during 2001. British Columbia’s Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS) and Other Halocarbons Regulation places the responsibility of evaluating replacement alternatives for ODS in fire extinguishing equipment on industry.
