Cusheon Lake is located on Salt Spring Island, BC. It is a relatively small lake with a surface area of 0.3 km2, and a watershed area of 7.24 km2. The lake is an important water source, recreation area, and habitat for fish and other aquatic life. Ongoing algal blooms have resulted inthe necessity to understand lake water quality conditions, and seek out reasons for these occurrences. Through a review of water quality data that has been collected at Cusheon Lake since 1974, this report has identified the following major conclusions:
