The upper portion fo the Bridge Creek watershed contains may inter-connected lakes and is a popular recreation area, with Horse Lake having considerable year-round residential development. Horse Lake is the furthest downstream lake in the area, and therefore it receives the runoff from all land uses upstream. horse Lake is the reservoir for the 100 Mile House community water supply located approximately 10 KM downstream of the lake. Therefore, Horse Lake's water quality directly affects the quality of the drinking water for the District of 100 Mile House.
