The MC2-CALGRID photochemical modelling system is used to simulate the impact of a future year emissions control scenario on an ozone episode. Initially, a comparison is made of modelled ozone levels during a five day period in 1985 with those based on a projection of emissions to the year 2005. Then, a comparison is make for the year 2005 of the relative impact of gasoline vehicle and selected compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicle technologies, available from Chrysler in 1992, represented in the clean fleet demonstration program. The comparison represents a snapshot of technologies at the time, and future developments in technologies are expected.
