The Georgia Basin Ecosystem Initiative (GBEI) is being implemented by Environment Canada (EC) and the BC Ministry of Environment Lands and Parks (MoELP) to address environmental, health and financial issues pertinent to the GBE. The ultimate goal of the initiative is to reverse pollution and minimize public health risks in the Georgia Basin.
This study was commissioned to obtain baseline data and quantify the present loading into the surface waters of the GBE. A second objective of this study was to identify those facilities that are presently under performing, to be prioritized for future assessment.
