This report examines beverage container recovery systems to help support the province?s goals of lowering the total municipal solid waste produced in BC. The recovery systems are described in this summary report, and the cost structure is examined. These systems are explored in light of a proposed universal beverage recovery system. The financial considerations are explained and the authors describe what sectors/people would benefit from a universal system, and those that would not. Finally an implementation strategy is proposed.
