Abstract
In 1984 parts of a feature motion picture were filmed in the near-alphine vegetation in Cathedral lakes park at 2225 m altitude. Trampling effects and effects from the exclusion of sunlight by temporary structures were anticipated. Therefore, to minimize trampling effects, platforms and ramps were installed. Ramps were constructed so that 20% of the incident light could reach the plants beneath. A photographic technique for monitoring impacts and inventorying vegetation was developed as part of the study.
