Abstract
 The BC Forest Service?s 'Protection Bulletin' was published by the Protection Division in Victoria from 1946 to 1965. It was distributed to Forest Service staff and the forest industry in order to raise awareness and provide education about wildfire prevention, detection and suppression. Specific subjects included legislation and regulations, fire weather, fire behaviour, fire preparedness, fire occurrence, snag falling, slash burning, care and use of equipment, technological advancements and training. While historical aspects were rarely addressed (see 1965 No. 1), the bulletins themselves provide a valuable perspective into fire management activities during that time period. 52 bulletins.
