Abstract |
The Lillooet River Watershed is the largest single watershed within the Lower Mainland Region. A Watershed Management Plan is being developed by the Ministry of Environment, Department of Fisheries and Oceans and the Fraser Pollution Abatement Office of Environment Canada as a comprehensive tool to protect the Lillooet River and its tributaries from the cumulative impact of various land uses. One component of watershed planning is identifying point sources and non-point source discharges into the aquatic environment. This report summarizes a first examination of effluent and non-point source pollution from primarily urban areas in the Lillooet drainage. This survey is one component of several projects undertaken to characterize and classify the natural and altered environment in the Lillooet basin. | ||||||
