This project integrates a variety of environmental and land tenure data resulting in a series of derivative layers and maps that model habitat connectivity, conservation values for sensitive ecosystems, relative biodiversity and presents land management classes. The study area is the South Okanagan Similkameen Regional District including the municipalities of Penticton, Summerland, Osoyoos, Oliver, Princeton, Keremeos and surrounding rural areas. The report details methods, source data layers, derivative map products, decision support tools and results. Data and spatial files have been provided for: Conservation Rankings, Relative Biodiversity, Habitat Connectivity and Land Management Classes. Project initiated by the South Okanagan Similkameen Conservation Program (SOSCP) and partners to inform a regional Biodiversity Conservation Strategy (BCS) for the South Okanagan Similkameen Regional District area, as identified in the South Okanagan Regional Growth Strategy (2010).
